Weekly meeting template

Use this check-in template to stay in touch on both the human and work front.

Why weekly meetings are important

Regular check-ins help managers keep a finger on the pulse of the team. It’s a way to know what’s happening, spot work blockers from a mile away, and make sure your team reaches their goals. High-performing teams talk to their manager at least every week!

We created a weekly meeting agenda for one-on-ones. The talking points in this template will drive a productive conversation. You’ll have the chance to ask meaningful questions and offer support when needed to each person in your team.

How to plan your weekly meetings

Planning weekly meetings with all your direct reports might not sound like an easy task. After all, managers are known for their busy schedules!

Here are some tips for planning your meetings for maximum effectiveness:

  • Schedule 30-minute meetings as recurring in your online calendar to block the time ahead of time.

  • Review the weekly meeting agenda before you meet to see if you need to add additional topics to discuss.

  • Take notes of any talking points you couldn’t discuss if you ran out of time and bring them back during the next weekly chat.
